A rather cloudy day with rain at times, especially at first and again later in this afternoon. Best chance of some brighter or sunnier spells expected across Shetland around the middle of the day. Fresh easterly winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

A mostly cloudy evening with outbreaks of mainly light rain and drizzle. However it should become drier towards midnight with clear spells developing through the early hours. Easterly winds easing. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Friday 9th September:

A fine, mainly dry and bright day with some good sunny spells developing. Occasionally fresh northeasterly breeze. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Dry with sunny spells Saturday. Dry and bright through much of Sunday but heavy evening rain likely with freshening southerly winds. Cloudy with occasional rain Monday.
