Today 13th September:
A day of scattered light showers and occasional brighter spells, these most readily appearing across Orkney through the morning, then Shetland for the afternoon. Winds northwesterly, strong at first over Shetland. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Tonight:
Fresh west to northwest winds will continue to feed a mix of clear spells and scattered showers over the Northern Isles tonight. Minimum temperature 9 °C.
Wednesday 14th September:
More showers and brighter spells, but with the occasionally strong winds now veered north or northwest it will feel colder and across Shetland showers will turn heavy at times. Maximum temperature 14 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
The pattern looks set with brisk north to northwest winds bringing showers with brief brighter spells between, while further suppressing temperatures.
