A rather cloudy morning with outbreaks of rain, best chance of any brighter spells across Orkney towards the midday. During the afternoon a more persistent, perhaps occasionally heavy spell of rain is expected. Freshening southerly winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Tonight:
Remaining mostly cloudy with outbreaks of occasionally heavy rain, the rain starting to clear from the west towards the end of the night. Occasionally strong southerly winds easing later. Minimum temperature 11 °C.
Thursday 22nd September:
Any remaining cloud and rain soon clearing then a bright day with some good sunny spells and just the odd mainly light shower. Occasionally fresh southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Bright with sunny spells and a few showers through Friday and Saturday with a mainly northwesterly breeze. Cloudier Sunday with some heavy afternoon rain and a risk of southwesterly gales.
