Wet and windy through much of Friday with some heavy rain and gale or severe gale southerly winds. Brighter, showery conditions reach Orkney in late afternoon and Shetland late evening. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Occasional showers continue throughout the night, these will be interspersed with clear spells. Winds ease fresh to strong southwesterly from the evening. Minimum temperature 8 °C.
Saturday 1st October:
Brief sunny spells and heavy, perhaps thundery, blustery showers with continuing fresh to strong southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Showery morning Sunday with strong westerly winds but the afternoon looks drier. Then mainly dry Monday with winds turning southerly. Rain spreads northeast in strong southeasterly winds overnight into Tuesday.
