Funding Boost For Orkney Youth Cafe

The Orkney Youth Cafe has been awarded £60,760 from the Young Start Fund part of The National Lottery Community Fund.

The funding will be used to

“re-establish their youth café based in Kirkwall which provides a safe, supportive environment for young people to socialise and grow their skills and confidence. The youth café is designed by the young people themselves and will open 20 hours per week offering daytime and evening support to young people aged between 12-24 years in the Orkney Islands.”

Young Start helps young people aged eight to 24 become more confident and play an active part in realising their potential. Funding of up to £100,000 is available for youth led projects. Groups can apply by emailingadvicescotland@tnlcommunityfund.org.uk or calling 0300 123 7110.
