A cloudy across the Northern Isles with some rain at times, becoming more persistent across Orkney in the morning and Shetland in the afternoon. Windy later with strong to gale southwesterly winds late afternoon. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

A mostly cloudy night across Shetland with occasional rain. Mainly dry with lengthy clear periods. A windy night with strong to gale west to southwesterly winds. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Saturday 29th October:

Orkney and southern Shetland dry with plenty of sunshine. Northern areas of Shetland cloudy with some patchy light rain. Windy at first. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Mainly dry and bright on Sunday and Monday, chance of rain on Tuesday. Windy with southerly gales at times.
