Cloudy with rain over Orkney soon reaching Shetland. The rain becoming heavier for a time then drier, brighter weather following to Orkney this afternoon. Drier conditions reaching Shetland early this evening. Fresh southeast winds at first, becoming lighter by afternoon. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry with clear periods and just a few showers possible later tonight. It will be a colder night with southerly winds strengthening towards morning. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Wednesday 2nd November:

Mainly dry, bright morning then becoming cloudy in the afternoon. Rain will reach Orkney early in afternoon, extending to Shetland by early evening. Southeasterly winds becoming strong for a time. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

There will be bright spells and scattered showers on Thursday and Friday with fresh southwesterly winds. Dry on Saturday morning then rain extending across the Isles in the afternoon.
