Showers over Shetland dying out through the morning, otherwise a bright day across the Northern Isles with sunny spells. However cloud is expected to increase across Orkney later this afternoon. Freshening southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Tonight:

Clear spells at first across Shetland but generally cloudy this evening and overnight with occasional rain. Drier conditions reach Orkney towards the end of the night. Occasionally strong southeasterly winds. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Tuesday 8th November:

Cloud and rain across Shetland soon clearing then a bright morning with sunny spells. Cloudier conditions with showers reach Orkney around mid-afternoon and Shetland in evening. Occasionally fresh southerly breeze. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Sunshine and showers Wednesday. Cloudier Thursday with occasional rain, but drier later. Bright start Friday but cloudier afternoon with rain. Occasionally strong southerly or southwesterly winds, risk of gales Friday.
