Strong southeast winds will occasionally touch gale force, particularly across Shetland from mid-afternoon. A cloudy day with some patchy light rain, possibly turning heavier and more persistent towards early evening. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Tonight:
Overcast with periods of rain, perhaps heavy at times. Southeast winds gale, to severe gale, easing towards dawn across Orkney where the rain turns patchy. Minimum temperature 8 °C.
Wednesday 16th November:
Gale to severe gale southeast winds and periods of rain across Shetland for much of the morning. Otherwise sunshine and showers, with outbreaks turning heavier and more frequent late afternoon. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Thursday and Friday brings further gale to severe gale southeast winds and showers or longer periods of rain. Improving for Saturday with rain clearing from south, but further southeast gales.
