Mainly dry, just a few showers, these wintry at first but turning to rain in the afternoon. Feeling cold with strengthening southeasterly winds reaching gale force later. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Tonight:

After a dry evening, outbreaks of rain soon spread north, heavy at times but interspersed with dry spells. Milder than previous nights but windy. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Monday 19th December:

Wet and windy across Shetland on Monday, drier across Orkney, with lighter winds. Feeling much milder. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Feeling much milder. Breezy with showers or longer spells of rain Tuesday and Wednesday becoming colder Thursday when showers become wintry.
