Some bright or sunny periods and a few showers, occasionally heavy with a chance of hail across Shetland. Orkney seeing some spells of drier weather. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Tonight:

Clear periods and a few passing showers continuing this evening and overnight, perhaps briefly heavy across Orkney at first this evening. Brisk southwesterly winds, Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Tuesday 10th January:

A few showers at first otherwise dry in the morning. Rain along with strengthening southeasterly winds will extend north in the afternoon. Drying up from the west through the evening. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Remaining changeable with sunny intervals and a few showers, a longer spell of rain expected on Thursday. Turning much colder on Friday.
