Some bright or sunny spells and a few showers, these occasionally wintry and briefly heavy. Fresh to strong north or northwesterly winds, especailly across Orkney Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Tonight:

Clear periods and further frequent showers, although showers easing somewhat later in the night. Fresh to strong northerly winds, moderating later in the night. Icy patches. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Friday 20th January:

A few showers at first, otherwise it will be a dry day with some sunshine. Lighter winds. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Fresh southwesterly winds will bring a lot of cloudy weather with rain at times. Becoming milder.
