Rather cloudy with patchy rain at times, mainly light with drier spells, some brightness developing across Orkney during the day. Strong south to southwest winds easing, gales at first around Shetland. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
The cloud thinning and breaking during the evening with some clear spells and a few well scattered showers. Rain possibly returning to Shetland later in the night. Moderate southwest winds. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
Monday 23rd January:
A bright start expected over Orkney, but rather cloudy with patchy rain, this mainly in Shetland. Fresh southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Mainly cloudy and windy with patchy rain on Tuesday. Wednesday brighter and cooler with showers, then mainly dry on Thursday.
