A few bright or sunny spells, especially across Orkney this morning, but generally a rather cloudy day with occasional, mainly light rain. Occasionally strong southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

A mild but cloudy evening and night with outbreaks of mainly light rain and drizzle. The occasionally strong southwesterly breeze will ease a little overnight. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Tuesday 24th January:

Some bright or sunny spells across Orkney around the middle of the day, otherwise a mostly cloudy day with further occasional mainly light rain and drizzle. Occasionally strong southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Rain clears overnight to leave sunny spells and showers on Wednesday with winds turning northwesterly. Mainly dry and bright Thursday but Friday looks cloudier with occasional rain and southwesterly winds.
