Orkney and Fair Isle will have a cloudy day with persistent rain. Mainly dry across Shetland this morning but persistent rain developing through the afternoon to leave a wet end to the day. Fresh to strong southeasterly winds this afternoon. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Further rain this evening before drier and clearer weather spreads from the west by the early hours. Then just a few showers. Strong southeasterly winds veering westerly increasing gale force. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Friday 3rd February:

Mainly dry in the morning. Thickening cloud will bring rain to Orkney in the afternoon and Shetland by evening. Strong westerly winds easing in the morning. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Rain for a time on Saturday then sunshine and showers. Mainly dry on Sunday. Windy on Monday with rain later in the day.
