Today 19th February:
Thickening cloud with outbreaks of rain soon spreading in from the west, the rain heavy and persistent at times. Winds strengthening from the south or southwest. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Outbreaks of rain during this evening, clearing to occasional blustery showers overnight. The west to southwest winds becoming gale or severe gale force, gusts to around 65mph over Shetland. Minimum temperature 5 °C.
Monday 20th February:
A very windy start, severe gales continuing across Shetland, but the westerly winds gradually easing through the day. Mainly dry and bright, although the odd shower possible.. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:
Cloudy with rain at times on Tuesday. Colder on Wednesday with sunshine and scattered showers. Patchy rain pushing south on Thursday.
