Shetland starting off dry this morning before cloud and rain spread from the southwest this afternoon. Orkney will be cloudy with rain at times. Cold across Shetland but somewhat milder than of late across Orkney. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy with rain for most of the night, turning drier from the north across Shetland later on. Fresh to strong north to northeasterly winds developing later. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Monday 1st May:

Overnight rain soon clearing Orkney. Then a few bright spells and occasional showers. Feeling cold in the brisk northwesterly wind. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

A mainly dry few days with sunny spells. Chance of a little rain across Orkney on Wednesday night. Light winds.
