A wet and windy morning with the odd rumble of thunder possible, strong east to northeast winds. Drier, sunnier conditions reaching Orkney by late morning with Shetland brightening up during the afternoon, winds veering southeasterly and easing. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Orkney will stay mainly dry with some sunny intervals this evening though turning cloudier overnight. Shetland could see a few thundery showers this evening, early tonight then becoming mainly dry. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Sunday 16th July:

Mostly dry with variable cloud and some bright or sunny spells. Perhaps the odd shower around. Mainly light winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Cloudier with a few light showers on Monday, breezy. Sunshine and a few showers on Tuesday and Wednesday.
