Cloudy, rather misty start to the day, especially for Orkney with drizzly rain, but cloud will gradually thin and become more broken through the day. Brighter spells in afternoon but a few light showers too, Moderate northerly winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Mostly cloudy overnight with light showers over Shetland but Orkney will see drizzly rain return from the west. Moderate north or northwest winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Friday 4th August:

Mostly cloudy start with drizzly rain over Orkney and the odd shower over Shetland, Becoming drier and brighter through the morning with some afternoon sunshine and northwesterly winds falling light. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Sunny spells and a few showers on Saturday and Sunday, but cloudier with risk of drizzly rain over Shetland Sunday morning. Bright spells and showers Monday. Generally light winds throughout.
