Orkney will have a cloudy morning with some mist, low cloud and drizzle, before becoming much brighter with some sunshine by the afternoon. Shetland mainly dry with sunny intervals and the odd shower. Light winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Shetland rather cloudy, mainly dry but still the odd shower around. A sunny end to the day for Orkney then clear spells tonight, clouding over towards morning. Light winds. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Thursday 17th August:

Early cloud over Orkney clearing then a bright day across the Northern Isles with some sunny spells. Light to moderate east or southeast breeze. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Friday will be dry and bright with some good sunny spells. Dry start Saturday then rain, with strong easterly winds. Sunday mainly dry and bright with sunshine, the odd shower.
