Weather Forecast: Dry with bright spells becoming breezy later

Today 18th August:

All parts will have a dry day with variable amounts of cloud and some bright or sunny intervals. Freshening southeasterly winds in the afternoon and evening. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining dry with some sunshine during the evening particularly in the west, clear spells overnight. Winds becoming strong especially for Orkney by dawn. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Saturday 19th August:

A change in conditions on Saturday, despite early sunshine for Shetland rain will move north affecting Orkney by lunchtime and Shetland soon after, accompanied by strong southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Strong winds and blustery showers at times on Sunday and Monday. Winds easing on Tuesday with some brighter weather but still the threat of heavy showers.
