Today 21st August:

Mainly dry morning, perhaps the odd light shower, with some good spells of sunshine around. Continuing dry with sunny spells across Shetland this afternoon but becoming cloudier across Orkney with outbreaks of rain spreading east later. Freshening southerly breeze. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Tonight:

Some late brightness across Shetland, otherwise a cloudy evening and night with outbreaks of rain, the rain perhaps heavy for a time especially across Orkney this evening. Fresh southeasterly winds. Minimum temperature 13 °C.

Tuesday 22nd August:

A little brightness at times, especially around midday and again later, but generally a rather cloudy day with some showery outbreaks of rain. Occasionally fresh southeasterly then southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Remaining rather unsettled with occasional showers and perhaps some longer spells of rain, but also some sunny or clear spells. Cooler than recent days as winds gradually turn more northerly.
