Weather Forecast: Cloudy start with occasional rain, then brighter with showers

Today 22nd August:

A rather cloudy morning with, especially across Shetland, outbreaks of rain. The rain turns more showery through the morning and skies become brighter to leave sunny spells and a few showers this afternoon. Southerly winds turn more southwesterly and freshen. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Some late sunny then clear spells, with showers becoming increasingly confined to Shetland this evening. Mainly dry with clear spells overnight, just the odd shower continuing across Shetland. Southwesterly breeze. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Wednesday 23rd August:

A bright day with some sunny spells and, while most places will remain dry, just a few mainly light showers. Southwesterly breeze easing and turning more southerly. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Some heavy showery rain across Shetland through Thursday morning. Otherwise remaining unsettled through into the weekend with occasionally heavy showers.
