A cloudy start for Shetland with a little light rain, otherwise a mainly dry day with some sunny intervals developing. The best of these over Orkney in the afternoon. Moderate to fresh westerly breeze. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

A mainly dry start to the evening but outbreaks of rain will soon reach Orkney before spreading to Shetland overnight. Rain clearing overnight followed by clear spells and showers. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Tuesday 29th August:

A day of bright spells and showers, some of these becoming heavy and slow-moving over Orkney. Shetland should stay mainly dry with sunny spells. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Sunshine and scattered showers on Wednesday, then dry with sunny intervals on Thursday and Friday.
