Weather Forecast: Sunny spells, scattered showers, then Orkney turning wet

Today 29th August:

Orkney starting dry with some sunshine but becoming cloudy with showers or longer spells of heavy rain in the afternoon. Shetland mainly dry with sunny spells and just a few scattered showers. Mainly light winds, freshening over Orkney later. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Further heavy showers over Orkney this evening, perhaps thundery, then becoming clearer with isolated showers overnight. Shetland clear with the odd shower. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Wednesday 30th August:

A mainly dry and bright day with some sunny spells. One or two showers are possible, more likely over Shetland. Light to moderate northerly breeze. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

A mostly dry and bright few days with some sunshine at times. Perhaps one or two light showers on Thursday and Friday with the best of the sunshine on Saturday.
