A dry day with some long spells of very warm sunshine although low cloud may come and go across northern parts of Shetland. Mainly light southwesterly winds backing southeasterly later. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Tonight:

Dry this evening with some late sunshine. The rest of the night will be mostly dry although haar may return to Shetland, along with a passing shower later. Minimum temperature 14 °C.

Saturday 9th September:

Mostly cloudy with some occasional rain, Shetland seeing some misty low cloud at times along with a brisk southwesterly wind. Still warm across Orkney but a cooler day across Shetland. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Rain at times later on Sunday and during Monday. Brighter and drier on Tuesday with just a few showers.
