It will be a dry day with plenty of sunshine in the morning and early afternoon, with light winds. High cloud thickening up later especially over Orkney where southeasterly winds will freshen. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

A dry evening over Shetland, but outbreaks of rain will reach Orkney by mid evening extending to Shetland in early hours, with strong southeasterly winds. Orkney drier by morning. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Thursday 14th September:

Rain over Shetland soon clearing, then a mix of sunshine and showers through the rest of the day. Strong to gale southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Sunny intervals and a few showers on Friday, lighter winds. Rather cloudy with some showers on Saturday then dry and sunny on Sunday.
