A chilly start then a dry day with sunny spells but becoming cloudier in the afternoon with a freshening southerly breeze. A little rain perhaps reaching Orkney by evening. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Outbreaks of rain over Orkney will spread north into Shetland during the evening. Becoming drier with some clear spells over Orkney. Fresh southeasterly winds. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Monday 18th September:

A dry start with a little brightness at first over Orkney. Otherwise, cloudy with outbreaks of rain, these becoming heavy during the afternoon. Breezy. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Rain clearing early Tuesday then a dry and bright day but more rain arriving overnight and becoming windy. Sunshine and a few showers on Wednesday and Thursday with winds easing.
