Today 19th September:

A bright day with sunny spells. Also a lot of dry weather but there will be occasional showers, even the odd heavier one. Fresh south or southwest winds. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Clear periods and a few showers at first, then cloudy. More persistent rain soon reaching Orkney will extend to Shetland later tonight. A mild night with fresh southeast winds. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Wednesday 20th September:

Mostly cloudy with patchy light rain at first. Drier weather soon reaching Orkney, extending to Shetland later in morning, then bright spells and a few showers in afternoon. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Some bright spells on Thursday and Friday but often cloudy with a number of showers. Also windy at times. Drier on Saturday with sunny spells and lighter winds.
