There will be a mix of sunny intervals and scattered showers, some of the showers on the heavy side. Fresh to strong southerly winds will gradually veer westerly during the afternoon. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

Occasional showers will continue this evening and tonight though turning lighter with time. Fresh to strong westerly winds will persist, Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Saturday 30th September:

Orkney will have a bright mainly dry day with some sunny spells. More cloud for Shetland bringing occasional light showers but some sunshine breaking through in south. Winds easing Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Overnight rain clearing Shetland on Sunday morning then a bright day with sunshine and scattered showers. Fresh southwesterly winds. Staying bright and showery on Monday and Tuesday.
