Today 30th September:

Orkney will have a bright mainly dry day with some sunny spells and light winds. More cloud and breeze for Shetland this morning bringing occasional light showers but some sunshine breaking through in the afternoon as winds ease. Maximum temperature 14 °C.


A dry evening but clouding over with freshening southeasterly winds, these bringing some outbreaks of rain overnight. Orkney turning clearer by morning. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Sunday 1st October:

A dull damp start for Shetland otherwise a bright day with sunshine and a few showers. Breezy in the northwest. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

It will be a breezy few days with a mixture of clear or sunny spells and occasional showers, more frequent in the west.
