Today 3rd October:
A bright day with sunny intervals, but there will also be some sharp showers, these perhaps quite frequent at first and again around the middle of the day, Rather breezy, especially later in the day as westerly winds turn northwest. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Tonight:
Clear spells and a few showers with northwest winds easing as they turn westerly overnight. Southwesterly winds later over Orkney though, will bring cloud and showery outbreaks of rain. Minimum temperature 8 °C.
Wednesday 4th October:
Shetland starting dry, but rain spreading from Orkney in the morning with winds falling light. Brighter spells and scattered showers following to Orkney in afternoon as fresh westerly winds develop. Maximum temperature 13 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Mainly dry Thursday, but strong southerly winds in afternoon will bring rain later. Further rain Friday with strengthening southwesterly winds. Clearing to bright spells and a few showers for Saturday.
