A largely dry and bright day across Shetland with some good spells of sunshine. Orkney however will see rather more cloud with the risk of a few showers. Feeling cool with an occasionally fresh northerly or northeasterly breeze. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry with clear spells this evening and much of the night, perhaps a touch of frost in Shetland. Orkney becomes cloudier later with some rain possible by dawn. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Sunday 8th October:

A bright morning across Shetland with some sunny spells. Cloudier across Orkney with occasionally heavy rain, the rain edging into Shetland during the afternoon. Strengthening southeasterly breeze. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Rather cloudy Monday and Tuesday with outbreaks of rain, risk of westerly gales later Tuesday. Brief sunny spells and blustery showers Wednesday with northwesterly gales, perhaps severe at first.
