Today 16th October:
A rather cloudy day with occasional showers brought on fresh to strong west to southwest breezes. Best chance of brighter spells across Orkney and through the mid to late afternoon. Maximum temperature 11 °C.
Tonight:
The showers will continue but less frequent than by day with occasional clear spells developing. Fresh to strong west to southwest winds easing overnight. Minimum temperature 7 °C.
Tuesday 17th October:
Slight improvement from Monday with only a few isolated light showers appearing while limited brighter spells develop more readily. Also feeling milder as winds ease light and variable. Maximum temperature 12 °C.
Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:
Probably seeing best of Scotland’s weather, particularly across Shetland, with largely dry and sunny conditions. However increasing chance of rain affecting Orkney late Thursday and early Friday.
