Today 21st October:

Further rain across Orkney through the day, with some heavy outbreaks. A dry, bright start for Shetland but patchy, mainly light rain will arrive from the south in the afternoon. Easterly winds strengthening, with gales over Orkney. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Heavy rain over Orkney in the evening but turning more showery overnight. Further, mainly light rain over Shetland, but a spell of heavier rain possible in evening, Winds gradually easing. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Sunday 22nd October:

Generally cloudy with rain or showers, with perhaps a heavier spells of rain in afternoon over Orkney. Fresh or strong southeast winds at first but easing in the morning. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Some rain over Shetland Monday morning, otherwise dry and bright. Strengthening southeasterly winds Tuesday will gradually push rain up from the south, then cloudy with rain at times on Wednesday
