Weather Forecast: Cold and breezy with a few showers on Friday

Today 27th October:

Sunny spells and a few passing showers, these most frequent across Orkney. Best of the sunshine across Shetland, but cloudier later with perhaps longer spells of rain. Rather cold, with brisk east to southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Clear spells and the odd shower over Orkney in evening, but showery, sometimes heavy rain will spread from southeast overnight. Generally cloudy over Shetland with scattered showers. Fresh southeast winds. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Saturday 28th October:

Showery rain over Orkney pushing over Shetland in morning, with bright spells following to Orkney by the afternoon and becoming drier and brighter over Shetland late afternoon. Brisk southeast winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Bright and cold with sunny spells and scattered showers, some of hail with snow on higher ground.. Strong easterly winds Sunday, then fresh northeast winds Monday, but easing Tuesday.
