A dry morning with sunny spells, the afternoon will soon become cloudy with rain reaching Orkney by late afternoon and Shetland by evening. Strengthening easterly winds will reach gale force late afternoon. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Outbreaks of rain, some heavy, at first, clear Orkney late evening. Gale force easterly wind reaches severe gale for a time over Shetland, easing from the south later. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Thursday 2nd November:

Rain, mainly over Shetland, in the morning, otherwise a dry day with sunny spells and a fresh southeast wind. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Cloudy with patchy rain at times Friday. Drier and brighter Saturday and Sunday with a few, isolated, showers.
