A mostly cloudy day with periods of rain, heaviest across Orkney this morning. Becoming drier and a little brighter this afternoon, although further rain likely this evening. Strong northeast winds, easing later today. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Tonight:

Mostly cloudy with further rain at times. The rain will become mostly confined to Shetland by morning. Winds becoming light. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Saturday 4th November:

Staying rather cloudy over Shetland with further outbreaks of rain. Drier and becoming brighter over Orkney with a few showers. Light winds. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

A lot of dry, bright weather with some sunshine and light winds. Always the risk of catching a light shower but most of them remaining out to sea.
