Weather Forecast: Friday brings showers or longer periods of rain

Today 10th November:

Mainly cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain for much of the day, but Shetland will become drier in the afternoon with perhaps some late sunshine. Moderate or fresh, mainly northeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.


Rain over Orkney will quickly clear southwards then a mixture of clear spells and showers, these wintry on higher ground. Rather chilly with moderate north or northeasterly winds, Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Saturday 11the November :

Bright or sunny spells and scattered showers, a few sharp ones in morning and wintry on high ground. Fewer showers in the afternoon as northeasterly winds fall light. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Bright spells and a few showers Sunday. Cloudy on Monday and Tuesday with spells of rain and strong southeast winds, though easing through Tuesday and turning southerly later.
