Today 22nd November:

Overnight rain soon clears to give a dry bright morning across Shetland. Rain and cloud slower to clear over Orkney, but brightening up here by midday. However, cloud increases again in the afternoon bringing rain or showers. Strong westerly winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

A very windy night with severe northwest gales, perhaps gusting to storm force towards the end of the night. Blustery showers and clear spells. Minimum temperature 2 °C.

Thursday 23rd November:

A cold very windy day with northwest gale to severe gales. Frequent showers, turning wintry across Shetland in the afternoon, and Orkney in the evening. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Northwesterly gales gradually easing through Friday, with scattered showers, wintery at first. Winds falling light on Saturday with showers dying out. Milder and breezy Sunday with a chance of rain.
