A rather cold but bright day with some sunny spells and occasional wintry showers, these most likely across Orkney. The light, mainly easterly breeze will freshen across Orkney later this afternoon. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Tonight:

Mainly dry with long clear spells across Shetland and, with light winds, a widespread frost. Rather more cloud across Orkney with occasional, initially wintry, showers and a fresh easterly breeze. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Monday 4th December:

A bright day with sunny spells and occasional showers. Light winds across Shetland, and later Orkney as the easterly breeze eases. A little milder than recent days. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Cold with light winds, sunny spells and wintry showers through Tuesday and Wednesday with overnight frosts. Mainly dry and with sunny spells Thursday but a strengthening southeasterly breeze.
