A cold night with clear spells and a few scattered showers, wintry on high ground across Shetland. Easterly winds ease across Orkney to give light winds across the Northern Isles. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Tuesday 5th December:

A cold start with frost away from the coast leads to a bright day with sunny spells and a few scattered showers. Light variable winds. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Sunshine and showers on Wednesday, but cloud and southeast winds increasing later. Outbreaks of rain with southeast becoming easterly gales Thursday and Friday.
