On 17th of December 1989 The Simpsons premiered on Fox TV as a full animated series with the episode, “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire”.

 Created by Matt Groening for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series is a satirical depiction of American life, epitomized by the Simpson family, which consists of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. Set in the fictional town of Springfield, it caricatures society, Western culture, television, and the human condition.

“Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire” (titled onscreen as “The Simpsons Christmas Special“) is the pilot episode of the series.
