Cloudy with rain, widespread and possibly heavy over Shetland at first, otherwise patchy and light. Becoming drier towards the evening. Strong southwest wind eases light westerly during the afternoon. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Cloudy with the chance of some patchy light rain in the late evening then mostly dry with increasing clear spells. Another mild night. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Monday 18th December:

Cloudy and mainly dry with bright spells becoming overcast with a band of showery rain passing east over the Isles from late afternoon. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Cloudy with some bright spells and scattered showers Tuesday. Rain over Orkney for a time Wednesday, otherwise showers for most, some wintry, Wednesday and Thursday.

    When at my ‘Past’ time’, in Kirkwall I was ‘in mind’ and keep
    remembering ‘The Vard’ and memory reminds me to Berstine Road,
    Kirkwall, and just ‘dreaming myself back’!
