Shetland seeing a few showers this morning, otherwise dry with some brightness. Strong winds easing down this morning. Orkney seeing a cloudy day with occasional rain. Maximum temperature 8 °C.
Tonight:
Mostly cloudy with outbreaks of rain, turning heavier for a time. Drier, clearer weather later extending south later. Increasingly windy with northwesterly gale or severe gales developing later. Minimum temperature 3 °C.
Thursday 21st December:
Bright and cold with frequent showers, these turning wintry at times especially later in the day. Very windy, northwesterly gale or severe gales, perhaps storm force in the morning. Maximum temperature 4 °C.
Outlook for Friday to Sunday:
Cold with sleet and snow showers on Friday, less windy than on Thursday. Rain spreading northeast on Saturday. Brighter on Sunday with blustery showers.
