Today 22nd December:

Orkney rather cloudy with scattered wintry showers but turning to rain at times. Shetland will see a mixture of sunny intervals and occasional snow showers. A cold day with fresh to strong northwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:

Shetland will see clear intervals and occasional snow showers giving further slight falls. Orkney rather cloudy and mainly dry, just a few light wintry showers. Strong winds easing. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Saturday 23rd December:

Shetland will have a mainly dry bright but cold day. Orkney will be cloudy with outbreaks of sleet and snow, turning to rain as southeasterly winds freshen. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

After some overnight rain, and a thaw over Shetland, Sunday and Monday will be windy with sunny intervals and rain showers. Tuesday less windy, bright, a few showers.
