The world’s largest garden wildlife survey, The Big Garden Birdwatch, will take place between 26th and 28th of January.

This amazing citizen science event asks participants to record what birds they see (even if they don’t see any) in their gardens – or if you don’t have a garden, a park or similar place – in the space of one hour.

Then simply send in the results to the RSPB dedicated page: Big Garden Birdwatch where you can find more information and how to identify and record the birds. Only count the birds which land.

Last year’s results can be found here: Starling No.1 in Orkney Big Garden Birdwatch

It is easy to sign up where you can get a helpful guide to download or they will even post it out to you.
