Are you interested in becoming a volunteer for the Island Games? #Orkney2025

Orkney 2025 International Island Games is hosting an official volunteer programme launch event on Monday 15 January, and is encouraging any locals interested in becoming a volunteer to attend.

Becoming a volunteer provides a unique opportunity to play a key role in a once in a lifetime event for Orkney that celebrates both sports and island communities; prospective volunteers are being invited along to find out more about what is involved and the various roles available.

The volunteer programme launch event, taking place at The Pickaquoy Centre in Kirkwall, will be hosted by Liam McArthur MSP and will be an opportunity for local residents who are interested in volunteering to hear from the Volunteer Director, chat to existing volunteers, and meet Ola the Orca, the Games mascot.

Games Director Kirsty Talbot said:

“We’re looking forward to welcoming potential volunteers to the launch event and sharing more about the exciting opportunities available. Some of our long-term volunteers will be in attendance to share their experience from past games and our team will be on hand on the day to sign up the very first round of volunteers.”

The volunteer launch event will start at 1pm  on Monday 15 January 2024. Snacks and refreshments will be available and all are welcome to attend.
