Often cloudy with frequent sleet, snow or hail showers, chance of an isolated thunderstorm. Strong to gale northwesterly winds, increasing severe gale for a time across Shetland where snow will drift on hills. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Tonight:

Mostly cloudy with frequent hail or snow showers. Windy with strong to gale north or northwesterly winds, occasionally touching gale force. Frost and icy patches. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Monday 15th January:

Bitterly cold and windy with frequent snow and hail showers. Fresh to strong north or northwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Little change, remaining very cold with frequent snow or hail showers. Frost and icy stretches. Becoming less windy.
