Today 28th January:

Some early patchy rain. Largely dry, occasionally bright come mid-morning with mild temperatures, but not feeling so in the gale to severe gale south to southwest winds. Rain reaching from the west late afternoon. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Rain at first, passing to east with a mix of clear spells and scattered showers developing from late evening. Gales subsiding and veering to a fresh to strong westerly overnight. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Monday 29th January:

Cooler temperatures, but probably seeing some of Scotland’s best weather with a good deal of dry and bright weather around. Brisk westerly winds easing and backing southwest late in day. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Largely dry with further good sunny periods for Tuesday. Wednesday brings severe gales and periods of occasionally heavy rain, that turns to showers later. Showers then rain Thursday.
